Mission to Romania

Bizarre Turn of Events

Dear Family and Friends,

It is impossible to believe that Daniel and I have been back in the USA for almost two weeks now. Our return trip was a disaster to say the least. Daniel badly injured his back about a week before we returned and the day we were supposed to get on the plane, he could not even walk. I have continued to praise The Lord for our Romanian friends, Adi and Flori Galiger, that traveled with us to Budapest the night before and handled all the luggage for us. Without their help, I am not sure we would have been able to return that day. The airline representative in the ticket office was so nice when I explained our dilemma and she organized wheelchair assistance and assigned Daniel three seats so he could lay flat on the long trip. When we arrived in New York, we had missed our flight to North Carolina and we had to stay the night in New York at the ministry’s expense because our airline said our late arrival from Europe was weather related. After all that we were put through there and the small fortune we had to pay, we decided we would likely never fly that airline again unless it was urgent. When we arrived in North Carolina, our friend, Jeff Moore, met us at the airport and handled all the luggage and took us home. We were so thankful to The Lord for the much needed help He provided through our friends.

Daniel’s back has improved a bit and after we were we back five days, we decided he needed to go to an orthopedic doctor to make sure he had not slipped a disc in his back. We were thankful to learn it was a very it was only a muscular problem (although a painful one) but, with time and rest, he should feel better.

We will continue with our fundraising visits as planned and we are working out our travel schedule now. We have some new video of our Good Beginnings Preschool, Education Inspiration, and Nurture Network projects that we are excited to show everyone. If you would like us to visit your church, school, or group, please let us know. You can reach us at the numbers listed below.

We would like to ask you to pray for our Romanian friends, Daniel and Mariana Mierlut, that just found out on February 2nd their 4 year old daughter, Debora, has leukemia. Daniel had just secured a job in Belgium and was in the process of moving his wife and three children there when he got the devastating news about his daughter. They have moved from Oradea to the city of Cluj (about two hours away) so that Mariana can be with Debora full-time in the hospital while her family members take care of their other children. Daniel was already working in Belgium so he has no income in Romania at the moment. Here is a photo of Debora in the hospital last week.

Please pray for her to be healed by the hand of God. We are waiting to find out what their specific financial needs and other needs will be and we will pass those along as we learn. Daniel has blessed our ministry for years by repairing our computers and printers as well as taking the professional photos that we used in our last brochure and on our website.

We thank you in advance for your prayers for everything mentioned in this email. We know God is able and we put all situations in His hands.

Basking In The Son,

Michelle
