Dear Family and Friends,
We had a very sad outcome this week for one of our residents at Agape Home. On Monday night, one of our residents developed a fever in conjunction with a severe ear infection. Our nurse was giving her injections and monitoring her several times a day and thought it would be wise to take her to the hospital for another examination. They admitted her that night and gave her various medications throughout the night. She stayed the entire next day until Nicu went to the hospital. After Nicu’s visit, she fled the hospital without the approval of anyone to rendezvous with her boyfriend. She simply abandoned her 2.5 month old son, Robert, at Agape Home with Nicu and Flori. Three days later, she surfaced at our office with her boyfriend to say she wanted to turn to the child over to the local child protection to be placed in foster care. We had already informed the authorities of her abandonment of the child. And, as usual, they did absolutely nothing about it. After a period of time, she will be able assume custody of the child unless she and her boyfriend along with all of their relatives sign over their rights for him to be adopted.

I am very concerned about Robert because his mother consumed alcohol and smoked the entire pregnancy. This is the reason we work so hard to bring women to Agape Home during pregnancy, not after they give birth. We ask you to join us in praying for Robert’s future. After the local authorities place him today, we will not be allowed to know any details of his placement or development. This is heartbreaking for Flori and Nicu who have invested so much time and energy in caring for this sweet baby. Please pray for The Lord to encourage and strengthen them. Here is a photo of Flori feeding Robert this morning:
