Mission to Romania

Several thousand words!

Dear Family and Friends,

The day after we returned to Romania Daniel and I joined our very own Santa Claus and delivered Christmas gifts to our foster children. The role of “Santa” was carried out by Nicu, the domestic missionary here who runs Agape Home with his wife, Flori. Honestly, Nicu really should do this professionally because he is such an actor! He was annoyed that his homemade beard kept getting in the way so if any of you know where we can get a better for next year, please let me know! Let the photos begin!

Daniel had to be first!

This little one was thrilled to see Santa!

This little one was NOT thrilled to see Santa!

This child recited a poem and sung a song to Santa!
(a requirement here for receiving your gift)

This miniature Santa kept saying “ho, ho, ho!!!”

This little doll wanted to immediately don her new hat and scarf for us!

Santa patiently waiting for our oldest and most timid child.

and the gift won her over in the end!

This little guy was SERIOUS about opening his gift!

Santa getting on the naughty list by throwing snow at his boss!

Even the foster siblings received gifts from Santa!

This was one excited little boy when he saw Santa!

Santa actually talked some children into pulling him on their sleigh!

Our social worker, Neli, was also one of Santa’s elfs!

On Christmas day, Daniel and I went to the hospital and prayed over the abandoned babies on the 7th floor where we have our Arms of Mercy workers. As I recently told a friend, those memories will always be some of my favorites from Christmas (with the exception of the year I got an EasyBake oven!) My friend, Dr. Eniko Bereki, was on duty that day as well and she gave me details of what to pray for and thanked me so genuinely when we left. Here are some photos of us at the hospital on Christmas day.

This is me with Eniko and a hospital worker.

Daniel and I wish all of you a very Happy New Year! We encourage you to seek The Lord as your guide for all you do in 2006! God is able! May His glory and peace fill your heart and dominate your soul.

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
