Matthew 18:4 “Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Dear Family and Friends,

We are so encouraged by what The Lord has been doing through our ministry and, most importantly, teaching us recently.  For three weeks now I have been leading the Beth Moore bible study, “Believing God” with three Romanian women who speak English.  I had reservations about doing this in English since it is not always easy for non-native English speakers to communicate what is on their hearts but we get around this by seeing the video and doing the workbook in English and discussing it in Romanian.  They are all so excited about receiving solid biblical teaching and I am humbled to be a part of it.  One of my precious friends in NC blessed us by sending us the DVDs and all the workbooks necessary and now they want to officially translate the study into Romanian and do it with Romanian speaking women.  Isn’t God good and far bigger than we ever expect!

I have tried to share our ministry’s basic needs with you from time to time without making anyone feel emotionally manipulated.  In the past, I never appreciated organizations that did this to me and I made a commitment early on not to do this in our ministry.  There are many opinions about whether or not those in ministry should make the needs known to others or keep quiet and trust in The Lord.  From my experience and prayers, I think there should be a healthy balance of both because many people would like to give thousands of dollars but cannot.  But, if these same people know our needs, they pray fervently for The Lord to move on the hearts of those who do have the financial means to give.  And there are many times when people have told me they were looking for a ministry to give to and God put our ministry in their path so they could give.  Additionally, The Lord has used financial needs to stretch my faith immensely over the years.  I praise His Holy name for loving me enough to teach me some of the same lessons over and over!

As is to be expected, when there is a crisis in the USA the giving from our American supporters decreases.  I appreciate the hearts of my American brothers and sisters who reach out to so many across the world with their finances.  Because of the recent hurricanes in the USA, our support has plummeted dangerously low.  In fact, we did not know if there would be enough for the monthly budget for October but just in the nick of time, The Lord made an amazing provision for us through some unexpected tax refunds from the government in Romania.  I am sharing this with you because I believe you all need to know we are extremely dependent on your monthly giving and on the occasional large contributions that come from some of you.  If there was EVER a time we need you to give to us, it is now.  We are in serious financial need.  We ask you to seriously seek The Lord about whether or not He is leading you to give to us.  We continue to pray for His will to be done.

Daniel and I will be returning to the USA on October 14th to begin immediate fundraising in churches and with a few other organizations.  If any of you would like us to visit your church or group in your home, please talk with your pastor or missions committee about the possibility of us visiting.  Because of the high gas prices, we will only be able to travel on the east coast but it looks like we will be flying to Akron, Ohio to visit Daniel’s family at the end of November and then driving up to Michigan so we could arrange a couple of visits in those areas as well.  We will also be flying to the Chicago and Rockford area the first weekend of December.  We would love to see as many of you as possible!

We will be arriving in North Carolina on Friday night and we can be reached at the telephone number below since it is the ministry mobile we use.  Also, if you send in a contribution to the address below, please send us a personal note and give us an update on you.  We personally receive any mail that is sent to our ministry post office box.  We cherish hearing personal news from our friends and family so please write!
Basking in the Son,
Michelle
