Dear Family and Friends,
We went yesterday to make a follow-up visit with the woman, Alina, who left Agape Home with her child to return to her abusive husband. Although Nicu had been there before, I was horrified by what we found. The little girl, Denisa, and Alina had both lost an unhealthy amount of weight and Denisa was very sick. But the most horrifying part was the house they were living in. They lived in one room approximately 5 feet wide by 8 feet long with walls made of mud and hay. The other “side” of the house was about the same size and housed a group of five people. One entire wall was almost completely deteriorated and you could see the field outside through the fist-wide cracks. It was worse than most barns I have seen here and they certainly will not survive the winter in this house. I have attached a photo of the outside of the house. I knew they would not let me take a photo of the inside. This is what Alina chose to return to rather than staying in Agape Home.

I will never, ever understand why some people choose hell over heaven but I know from a spiritual standpoint it happens all the time. It just breaks my heart for Denisa and the baby yet to be born. Please pray for this family.
I want to thank those of you who committed to giving towards the baby funerals and baby formula. We have the amount needed to bury both babies but I am not sure how much funding has come in for baby formula. When I know more certainly, I will let you know.
We ask for you to please pray for Daniel’s father, Ron Sims. We recently found out he has colon cancer and he will be having surgery tomorrow, August 18th, to remove the tumor. We also ask for continued prayers for Daniel’s sister, Kristle, as she is in the middle of a domestic nightmare including severe financial hardships. She told me yesterday in tears it was so hard to keep her faith high even though she knew God had just performed a miracle in her body. She is in the heat of a spiritual battle and we ask you to pray for The Lord to give her wisdom and strength far beyond her flesh. We are praying for there to be another victory in Jesus in her life!
Basking in the Son,
Michelle
