In this portion of scripture the time of testing the beliefs of these three young men came in verses 16-18. What they believed about God ca me forth and boldly from them in the face of torturous death by fire. They knew that standing for God could cost them their lives. They knew God was not obligated to save them because they stood up for Him. They knew to entrust their lives in Him and let Him make the decision as to if they would live longer on this earth or if their time would be ended. Their destiny was not in the hands of Nebuchadnezzer it was with God alone. They trusted God and His purpose and plan. If God saved them from the fire it would show His great power and glory, but also the understanding is God is all-powerful and worthy to be glorified even if they were to die in the fire. They would worship God alone because He is the only One to be worshiped. Even at the sacrifice of their lives.
Question:
Do we truly trust God with our lives and believe God is the only One w orthy to be worshiped? Do our lives demonstrate this in the difficult and peaceful situations that we encounter?
The Spirit will speak to our hearts about this truth concerning God if we ask Him. He is will and able to align our hearts with His truth if we let Him.
May His peace reign in our hearts today,
Daniel
