Dear Family and Friends,
I wanted to let you know that two days after I wrote my last email update, we had all the money pledged to pay Tina’s debts. This is such a praise to God! I want to thank all of you who gave towards this and wrote encouraging words for Tina.
Today, I had the privilege of calling Tina and sharing the good news and the Good News with her. I called our house mother, Flori, yesterday and told her about the pledges and told her I planned on calling today to talk to Tina and her on the speaker phone. It was such an emotional experience.
I explained to Tina I knew of her past and I knew her fines were from prostitution and she began to weep because she thought she was in trouble. I told her not to be upset because I wasn’t calling to judge her but, rather, to give her news. I explained how when I learned last Friday that she had such large debts, I prayed about it and then asked many people to help us pay these fines for her. I told her in two days, six people committed to paying for her debts. I continued by saying God only was her judge and He paid all of her debts for her sins and otherwise by coming to earth. I explained the bible tells us all of her sins and past were covered by the blood of Jesus and this was an important lesson that Jesus literally covers our sins and debts. Tina’s crying increased.
I then told her about many women in the bible who had the same past as her but after they changed, God used them in a mighty way for the Kingdom. I explained that because only God is our judge and only He knows our heart and that if she wanted to change, He could do it in her life because her past didn’t matter. I told her my hope was that she would change like the women in the bible and let the light of love of Jesus shine through her life. Tina then began to sob loudly. I asked Flori to hug her from me (both Flori and I were crying at this point) and Tina said, “Thank you.”
I finished by saying to Tina, “Jesus loves you and so do we in this ministry.” I would like to echo that same message to all of you and thank you for giving me the opportunity to share the message and hope of Jesus with Tina. Please pray for her understanding of this life changing message.
