Matthew 6: 25-26 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important that food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
Dear Family and Friends,
I recently received photos that I just could not resist sending to you. The “couple” in these photos is two children associated with our ministry. The little girl is one of our foster children and the little boy is the child adopted by Nicu and Flori, our house parents at Agape Home. They all happened to be at McDonald’s celebrating “Women’s Day” in Romania and, from what I can tell, it was love at first site.
Here is a shot of them being swept off their feet (literally!)

Here is a shot of their farewell…so sweet!!!

On a more serious note, we have a need I would like to convey to you. This is a very bizarre situation for our ministry but I really felt the Lord telling me to share this with others. The first pregnant woman we took in at Agape Home, Tina, very badly wants to keep her baby after she gives birth. Like many very poor people in Romania, she could receive government help with housing and food if her past were different. Because Tina worked as a prostitute after she was turned out onto the streets from the orphanage, she repeatedly received fines for her crime totaling about $1,000. Today we received a letter stating Tina would not be eligible for any future benefits until those fines were paid. Flori, our house mother at Agape Home, told me she is believing in a miracle for Tina and I am agreeing with her.
Flori told me that Tina began to cry after being told by someone from another ministry that she should give up her baby so the child could have a better life in a wealthy home. Tina is already suffering from the one child she abandoned several years ago and is in agony to think she would have to release this child for adoption as well. Flori said she was hugging Tina as she was crying and the Lord gave her the scripture I quoted at the top to recite. Afterwards, Tina had such peace about how the Lord would take care of her. We are so thankful when we see how the love of Christ changes the lives of these women and we are thankful for Flori and Nicu for how they give of themselves.
Another need we have is hiring two social workers. The current social worker we have for our foster care and hospital project is leaving at the beginning of May and we need to replace her. The other need is a social worker to work with the pregnant women at Agape Home. Please pray for the Lord to bring these two women to our ministry quickly. I had two phone interviews with two different women that went very well. I pray for this to work out. It is very stressful being here and hiring others to work there but our Administrator, Georgy, is doing a wonderful job handling all the details.
We thank you for your prayers and your encouragement. Daniel and I are scheduled to fly back to Romania on May 15th. We pray Daniel is walking normally by then and we would appreciate your prayers for this as well.
Basking in the Son,
Michelle
