The outcome of Daniel`s knee surgery

Dear Family and Friends,

I wanted to let everyone know what happened today.  Daniel, through the grace of God, was able to have arthroscopic surgery.  I am so pleased at the care Daniel received but we were both shocked at what the surgeon told us.

Daniel has endured knee pain since last August we assumed due to an injury he sustained while clearing land at Agape Home by hand with a large sickle.  The doctor thought the injury was a torn meniscus so we were prepared for Daniel to be back to normal in three days.  Unfortunately, this was not the case.

According to the surgeon, Daniel has degenerative arthritis is his knee to the point that much of the connective tissue has already totally deteriorated.  The surgeon told us he did repair the area as well as the meniscus but that Daniel must remain with his leg elevated until we see him again next Tuesday.  We went on to tell us that Daniel cannot put any weight on his leg for six weeks and must use crutches.  As you can imagine, we were taken aback by the news and still trying to process what this means for us during the rest of our stay in the USA regarding travel.

We so much appreciate all of you who praise for us and we ask you join us in praying for Daniel’s speedy recovery and his tolerance of being so limited.  I, of course, love the opportunity to care for my husband but I detest seeing him in pain.  Simply stated, it breaks my heart.

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
