Mission to Romania

The evidence of God`s hand

Psalm 34:8 “Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.”

Dear Family and Friends,

Many of you will hopefully remember “Miracle Maria” who our ministry brought to the USA over four years ago now.  If you do not remember her, Maria was about 8 months old with a huge tumor protruding from between her eyes.  The tumor was almost the size of her head. The medical community in Romania could not offer her services because neurosurgery is not done on infants in Romania.  They simply don’t have the resources.  Maria was more or less just being maintained and used as a case study by medical students in the area.

The Lord worked a miracle in Maria’s life.  Through the generosity of Buffalo Children’s hospital and surgeon Dr. Mark Dias, Maria was given a new life.  She has undergone many surgeries since then and will need another major neurosurgery and plastic surgery in the spring.  We ask for you to please pray for Maria and her family as they endure this.  Additionally, we ask that you pray for their adoption of Maria to finally be complete.  They are among the 200 USA “pipeline” cases of families trying to do an international adoption from Romania.  Because Romania closed down international adoptions shortly after Maria came to the USA, they have not progressed with paperwork.  We are told the Romanian government is willing to move these cases now, especially after President Bush recently put pressure on the Romanian officials to do so.

Two weeks ago, Daniel and I visited Charleston, SC and we were once again blessed and moved to see what a beautiful, healthy child Maria is.  She is so full of life and energy!  We left that day knowing if the Lord never uses us for anything else in ministry, she was worth it all.  She is being raised by precious parents who love the Lord and are teaching Maria how much Jesus loves her.  It is rare that we truly get to see the fruits of our labor but when we do, I know we are doing exactly what God asks.  I thought you would want to see Maria today so you can praise God along with us!

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
