Mission to Romania

Prayer needs for tomorrow

Dear Family and Friends,

Is it August 3rd today??? How did that happen? Grandma always told me that after you turn 30, years turn into days and boy is she right! This summer has been very busy and full of wonderful happenings! During July, we had a team of 23 from Charleston Southern University (Baptist University) come to Oradea to work with our ministry. It was a fast paced ten days and we did lots of ministry together. I think most people enjoyed spending time with the abandoned babies in the hospital and just loving the babies in the name of Jesus. We also held a conference for our foster mothers teaching them some principles of brain development, stimulation, and behavior modification for our foster children. Our foster mothers were joined by the foster mothers of another ministry and they really enjoyed the seminar. They were so appreciative of the professors who took their time to come here and train them.

Unfortunately, the CSU team had the only medical emergency we have ever had happen on a visiting team. While visiting the mountains of Romania one afternoon, the husband of one of the professors, Larry Nanna, fell while doing a bit of rock climbing and shattered the bones under his knee. The worse part was the agony he had to endure for days after until a flight was secured for him to return to the USA. We ask you to please pray for Larry and his wife, Glenda, as he recovers over the next 3 months. He underweight surgery last Friday and two screws and much “wreckage” had to be removed. We talked to him yesterday and he said the pain was getting better each day but the fact he can put no weight on his leg really incapacitates him. We thank the Good Lord for the fact Larry fell on his leg and not his head!

We have a huge praise report about Agape Home. After MANY, MANY months of trials and waiting, we have passed the first of the last three steps to getting our authorization to take in pregnant women. Tomorrow is a BIG day for the second step as the structural engineer will present all the paperwork to the fire department for approval. Please, please pray for this to go well and for us to receive the approval from the fire department. We have made all the necessary modifications to include a separate enclosure in the attic for the boiler, metal coverings over windows within three meters of doors, and a concrete block enclosure around each entrance. If we pass this step, we only lack the approval from the Department of Sanitation before obtaining our authorization to operate. We are so very close now but lots could still go wrong so please, please pray!

I will soon be sending out another update with a photo of our newest foster baby. I can’t wait for you to see his precious little face. I wanted to get this off today so you could pray for tomorrow meeting with the fire department. Thank you so much for your continued prayer and financial support. Please keep it coming!

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
