Phillipians 4:19 “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
Dear Family and Friends,
I will start by shouting, “Happy New Year!!” albeit a tad late. But I have a really good excuse. Honestly, I do. I am recovering from surgery that I had last Thursday. See, I told you I had a good excuse! Most of last year, I dealt with a mystery pain that got progressively worse. As soon as we returned to the USA in November, I had some testing done to try and find out the etiology of the pain. After a second opinion, Daniel and I prayed about the direction for treatment we should take and decided exploratory surgery would give us conclusive answers. We are very happy we had this done because the problem was found and, we hope, corrected. We are in my hometown of NC (snowed and iced in, I might add!) and I am recovering very well. This was the first time in my 35 years that I had any type of surgery and I hope it is the last! Thank you to those of your who prayed for me.&n! bsp; I am very happy it is finally over! Here is a photo Daniel and I had made over Christmas.
I have been in close contact with our employees in Romania and all is running very smoothly. Our newest child, “Ovi” is from the local state run orphanage and is doing wonderfully is his foster home. He replaces, “Deborah” who was recently adopted. Ovi was apparently very well cared for at the orphanage. In the photo below, he has just woken from a nap so he looks a bit “out of it” but my employees tell me his eyes are a beautiful shade of blue and he is a wonderfully developed six month old considering he was abandoned in a state run facility. I can’t wait to get back and kiss his sweet face!
Daniel and I continue to do fundraising for our ministry so we can get Agape Home completed and continue with our foster care and other programs. The value of the dollar has plummeted against the Euro making our ministry seem as though we have taken a 30% cut in funding. Most items are starting to be priced in Euro in Romania although the official currency is still “lei” (pronounced “lay”) and we are hoping the dollar will gain strength over the next few months. Still, we know God as our Provider and we trust for Him to supply all our needs when we need it.
You should know Daniel and I have had many problems sending and receiving email for several months now. At least two dozen people have commented on emails they sent I have not received. If you write and do not get a response, please re-send the email assuming I did not receive it. I apologize for the inconvenience. We are trying to figure out what is going on with our email server.
Daniel and I plan to return back to Romania in mid-February. We have really enjoyed getting to see old friends and meet new ones. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are!

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
