Dear Family and Friends,
Last Friday, I got a phone call from someone introducing herself as Olivia. She proceeded to tell me that she is a journalist for a local paper and that the paper wants to do a feature about me. I was suspicious as to why they would want to do this so I asked her to call next day and talk to Esti. Esti talked to her and Olivia assured her they were legitimate.
Yesterday, Olivia calls me to ask if I could meet her. I told her that I was on my way to church but that I would call her later and arrange I time. I did. After interviewing me for an hour or so, she asked if I would pose for photographs….in traditional Romanian clothing. Headdress included. I hesitated with 8 pairs of eyes looking rather offended that I wouldn’t don the antiquated clothing. I decided that the photos couldn’t be that bad. Then, I viewed them this afternoon and found out I was wrong. I look like a complete loony twirling (mind you that I was instructed to twirl) about in mismatched party clothing. (Now, for those of you that may get the bright idea to write someone on my staff to obtain a copy of this article, be forewarned that I have threatened to fire anyone for releasing the photos or article!) Pavel is using this to his advantage and is already threatening to post it to the website. This means war! (In the most Christ-like way of course!)
Thank you to so many of you for writing that you are praying for my grandparents. At last report, my grandma was home and doing well. My grandpa was supposed to return from the hospital yesterday but I have not heard from my family what the final outcome was.
I ask for your continued prayers regarding the adoptions corruption issues in Romania. I received a phone call today from the US Embassy telling me that the Ambassador is going to make requests to possibly do some congressional hearings on the matter. This is a HUGE praise!! I realize that nothing will happen overnight but I know that God is working in the center of it all. I praise God that He has been able to use me to help bring light to this dark situation in Romania.
All of the children are doing very well. We had two dedicated at church yesterday. They both looked like dolls!! I should have some photos to share soon.
I also ask that you pray for the Lord to continue to pour in the funding for our ministry. I need to be able to stay here and work on managing New Life House since Esti will be having her baby soon. Because of this, until August, it would be difficult for me to return to the US fund raise.
Thank you for your prayer and financial support. It is so comforting to know that people all over the globe are lifting us up before the throne!
Basking in the Son,
Michelle
