Dear Family and Friends,
Clay and I just returned from the children’s hospital so that he could see the children that our ministry rescues and places into Christian families. I have been there a thousand times and I rarely react to anything that I see there anymore. Today was an exception.
As Clay and I were leaving, the nurse called me in to see an infant that had a large bandage on his back and a protruding cyst from his side. I asked what the etiology of the tumor was and she replied that is was from spina bifida. As she removed the bandage, I had to steady myself on a crib. I wailed in surrogate pain for the child as my knees buckled beneath me. Clay’s mouth was agape as he looked on. My face became pale with immense heat. The nurse looked at me and announced that I should go outside immediately. I obeyed.
The mood is somber as I write this email. I have no idea what God would have us do about this case. I am beseeching each of you for your prayers today.
In addition, we have a child, Isabella, that is also in the hospital for a gland infection. We are praying that she come home as soon as possible.
We also need prayer for the funds that we will need for November’s operating expenses. I just received an email from Mary Gorham, the financial person on our board of directors from Children in the Son. She stated that, as of today, we do not have the funds we need to cover the operating expenses for November. Please join with us in believing that God will provide.
As a means of obtaining funds for November, I would like for you to pass along the following information to those that may be interested. Our ministry was given a beautiful diamond engagement ring (.75 carat for the center stone) and matching wedding band that is set in platinum. The person paid $7,000 for the set and the engagement was worn only three months. The wedding band has never been worn. If you would like to see a photo or know someone that would, please let me know and we will send it. If we sell the rings, it will help us tremendously with our finances for November and December.
