“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” - Jesus Christ
Mark 10:45
Dear Family and Friends,
I chose the above verse because my comprehension of the fact that Jesus is the “Son of Man” was a critical part of my faith process several years ago. It is also what I am referring to in the ministry name, “Children in the Son.” Integrating this terminology into my finite wisdom lead to a change of life and, ultimately, to a change of vocation. Thus my present location on the earth and my future location in heaven!!
The events of the last two weeks have created considerable changes in our ministry. First, Jessica has returned to the United States. We miss her very much and God used her tremendously to touch the life of an abandoned baby, Darius, and the homeless teenager, Anisoara.
Jessica fervently worked with Darius over the past two months. Because of hospital regulations regarding milk, however, she was not allowed to feed his fragile, severely malnourished body. At ten months old, Darius weighed a mere 7 pounds. I am happy to report (along with Jessica) that Darius entered the care of New Life House on Monday, September 11, 2000!! (See photo of Darius on day of arrival.) Since that time, he has already gained over 1 pound!! It will be such a blessing to see him develop and grow as Zambo has. I look forward to sending photo updates of his progress! Speaking of the little man, I have attached a photo of Mariana, one of our maternal assistants, with Zambo eating a banana upside down during staff meeting…yes, he sits up to swallow!
I have also attached a photo of our newest baby, Catalin in the arms of Angie, another of our maternal assistants.
Our precious Loredana came back to visit our ministry last week with her proud mother and father. The photo is the beautiful, new family. What a blessing to see such a happy family!
We have some exciting plans on the distant horizon for our ministry. Two people from my church, Seacoast, are planning a two week missions trip as a technical duo. Clay Stuckey and Jenny Wells (our official webmaster!) are planning to come together to do further web development, hardware and software modifications for New Life for Children, my local Romanian church, and several other missionaries that are here. They will also be assisting me with my audio/visual presentation for my six weeks in the United States. Both Clay and Jenny are in the process of fundraising to come. If you would like to contribute towards their expenses, please sends checks to the address below and note on the check, “Clay and Jenny.”
Concerning my six week fundraising effort in the United States, I want to get more information from those of you that have inquired about me speaking at your church or a church you know. I am trying to schedule dates for both the east coast and west coast. If you would, please write me as soon as possible. Thank you!
As for prayer requests, I ask for prayers specifically regarding my safety and protection. I also ask that you pray for two of our maternal assistants, Ramona and Laura. Both are out on medical leave and we are praying that they will be healed by the hand of God. We know that the Lord chooses to use medicine to heal as well but that area leaves much to be desired in Romania! God is a sure thing! Amen!!
Thank you for your continued support of this ministry. I am perpetually awed at how God uses His people around the globe.
Basking in the Son,
Michelle
