Mission to Romania

Oh Happy Day!

Dear Family and Friends,

I am tickled to tell you that Esti, my close friend and the Executive Director of New Life for Children-Romania, is pregnant! I am thrilled at her news and she has decided to return to work after two months (with the baby) rather than taking the normal two year maternity leave. I am pushing for her to stay at home but she says that as long as she can bring the baby with her, she wants to return to work.

I must tell you that my next tidbit of news is quite comical. Zambo, the malnourished ragamuffin that weighed 8 pounds in March, has officially been put on a diet because of his obesity. The nurse and I decided today that he would have no more sugar products. (Um, Jodi, do we have you to thank for his insatiable desire to have Coke?)
We have a few other needs here that I need to communicate. First, we need a dishwasher. The normal hand washing is not getting the bottles and dishes clean enough and I want the women to focus on caring for the children and not cleaning dishes. I priced one locally today and it will cost $410. If you can help with this, please let me know. Also, we have been told that Jessica will be allowed to feed the babies on the second floor of the hospital if we provide the formula. We have obtained a local distributor that will give us a good price on the formula but this cost is not budgeted into our ministry. Any money that you can send for this will be appreciated as well. I will be forwarding an email from Jessica concerning a homeless situation with one of our girls from the camp that the Seacoast team did in July. I am giving this project to Jessica but I told her I would send her email to my distribution list. Please pray about all of the needs that I have mentioned.
For those of you that don’t know Jessica, she is from my home church, Seacoast Christian Community in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She has been here for two months and will be staying for another three months to help with New Life House and our hospital project, Arms of Mercy. She is working particular close with one baby in the hospital, Darius, that is nine months old weighing only about 7 pounds. She asked me to send a photo of Darius so that people would pray for him.

heard yesterday that Maria may be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. A huge praise to God for the miracle He has worked in this child’s life!

May God richly bless each of you!!

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
