Mission to Romania

A Very Special Addition to the Ministry

Dear Family and Friends,

I am writing you from Oradea…yes, I am already back in Romania. I have fabulous news to report. When I left on Friday, Maria was being moved from intensive care to a regular floor. The plans are to monitor her for a few more days and then to release her. I am also happy to report that Connie and Gary Chandler have started the adoption process. I ask that you please pray for them through this process. We need the whole process to happen quickly as Maria’s medical visa expires in January if she needs no more neurosurgery. She will be monitored by a neurosurgeon that has just moved to Charleston, SC. Maria and Connie (who has been there throughout the whole process) will be back in the Charleston area soon.

Our ministry webmaster, Jenny Wells, is posting some photos of Maria to our new website. The website is only partially constructed but there will be more soon. As soon as she posts the photos, I will let you know.

I send a big thank you to all of you in the Buffalo area that made the visit there so pleasant. I have lots of new email addresses added to the list!

I was greeted at New Life House last night by a very rambunctious Zambo. He recognized me immediately and kissed me for about 20 minutes (he knows have to get me right where he wants me!) As many of you know, Zambo is three years old. When I was introduced to him in the hospital in March, he weighed a mere 8 pounds. Jodi worked with him everyday after that trying to catch him up. I am happy to report that today, as Jessica and I hauled him back and forth in church, I can attest to the fact that he has certainly more than quadrupled in weight. Neither Jessica or myself could hold him for very long because he is so heavy! (A note to Abby, Barbara, and Allie….we do have Gusti and his baby brother, Florin, in our care at New Life House. We are working on trying to get them legally free for adoption.)

I will write again in the next couple of days. Many thanks to so many of you for all of your prayers. They were answered abundantly greater than we could ask for or imagine!

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
