Dear Family and Friends, This has been a difficult week. After Maria’s surgery last Sunday, her swelling increased substantially. On Wednesday, they tried to remove the breathing tube but they were unsuccessful. On Friday, the swelling decreased drastically but her blood levels dropped. On Saturday, they began the process of weaning her from the ventilator in hopes they can remove the breathing tube on Monday.
