Unexpected Change of Plans

2 Corinthians 4:15 - “All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.”

Dear Family and Friends,

I wanted to let you know that I received an email today from Greg Surratt, my senior pastor at Seacoast, stating that the church is going to cover the cost of my airfare back to the US for the holidays. I am elated and I praise God that I have such a supportive church. Thank you to Greg everyone at Seacoast!!!

I also want to thank the numerous people that wrote today to offer financial help for me to come home. (If Greg had not emailed me, I would have still had the cost of the airfare covered considering the total amounts that people pledged.) Your willingness has humbled me greatly. My cup overfloweth.

I pray that all my family and American friends have a Happy Thanksgiving holiday. For my non-American friends, may God make you cognizant of how much you have to be thankful for wherever you live.

I daily see families on the street that don’t have enough food to eat for one meal. Their eyes echo hopelessness. They have become icons of the economic depression that has infiltrated this country with vengeance. They are a painful reminder of the bittersweet aftermath that has resulted from the freedom these families sought ten years ago. Please remember these families in your prayers tomorrow as you sit to dine tomorrow.

May God pour His grace and blessings on each of your lives and give you new definitions of thanksgiving.

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
