Mission to Romania

Early Thanksgiving (With Turkeys!)

Dear Family and Friends,

I am ecstatic to report that we have purchased a house and farm for Crizantina’s family. I think that the term “fixer-upper” applies but it is three times the size of their old house and it comes with about two acres of land (not to mention a pig pen, cow stable, and chicken coop….no, I am not exaggerating). The father understands that his job is to aide a worker in installing a bathroom and making the repairs necessary to make the house more comfortable. We are buying furniture this week and her family should move in this week. What a fantastic Thanksgiving this is for me and all of you that have lived this story with me. Your prayers were answered!!!

Last Sunday, Dave and Wayne from Barbara’s church is California arrived at our door step to deliver a 12 pound Butterball turkey for Thanksgiving. Can you say yee-haw!??! The process of what they went through to do this was as hysterical as HOW they did it.There will be some serious chowing occurring amongst the Americans here this coming Thursday!

In addition to the turkey, they brought me enough chocolate chips and microwave popcorn for the next year. I have been grinning since they left. Life really is simple!!! :) Thanks again, Wayne and Dave!!

There have been some major changes regarding the team that is coming from Seacoast. There are now only 3 people coming and we have made the commitment to distribute over 800 Christmas gifts to children. We need help!! If any of you would like to come or know someone that would, the dates they are traveling are December 14th through December 24th. If you are interested, please contact me immediately and I will put you in touch with the people that are coming. All people coming need to travel on the same days to avoid multiple trips to Budapest.

I also received an email this week stating that a couple from my church, (the same couple that donated the money for Crizantina’s house) donated the money for us to purchase a printer/copier/scanner/fax machine. We are thrilled about this and it will make the office run about 40 times smoother!! Thanks to the generous hearts of the donors!!!

Barbara and I spend four glorious days in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. She is leaving next week and we decided to do her debriefing there (and a fine spot it was to debrief!!!) We went into an eating frenzy within mere hours of arriving and stopped only when it was time to head to the train station to return. The castle is as magnificent as everyone remarks and it was especially enchanting as feathery snow began to fall while we were walking to the entrance. Attached is a shot of the top of the castle at night. If any of you would like to see more photos, I will be happy to send them!!

We still have no news on the acquisition of our land for the House of Grace juvenile delinquent project. We were told MANY times this week that they have given an official answer but that we must wait for that answer by mail (even though they know the answer at the office). It is one of those situations where analysis would require psychotropic medication on my part so I just trust in the Lord and claim that His timing is superior. :)

Thank you to the many of you that are prayer supporters. Prayer is the heart of all that happens here and I appreciate the many of you that take the time to type your prayers to me. What a blessing you are to this ministry!!

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
