Mission to Romania

Change of Scenery

Dear Family and Friends,

I am presently in the capital of Romania, Bucuresti, trying to make arrangements to get the container sent from Constanza to Oradea via train. There is one MAJOR problem…the original paperwork that I MUST have did not arrive as planned. I need the DHL package with this paperwork to arrive tomorrow morning because the container will arrive on Tuesday morning and all the arrangements need to be made prior to its arrival. Praise God, the container did not arrive on time!! (this is the first time I ever remember being relieved that something was late!!) My church in Oradea has graciously agreed to let me use their basement as storage so that the goods will not be stolen from the hospital. What a provision!!!

Tomorrow, I am attending a meeting at the home of the US ambassador here. He is hosting a networking meeting for all Americans working in child welfare. I am excited about meeting many of the other people working in ministries with children here and I always get excited about seeing who God will put in my path to unfold His plan!!

I may have to travel for the rest of the week so I ask for your prayers specifically for this. Tonight, as I was on my way to the track here to run, I dog that was sure I was infringing upon his territory, jumped up to bite me. He missed my hands and ended up ripping the shirt I was wearing (of course it HAD to be borrowed) and leaving a gaping hole. Praise God that was all that the dog damaged but it was weird having a dog charge me…that has never happened to me before. Praise God for His protective angels…I truly feel His hand on me.

You will all notice (probably happily) that I have learned know how to send “blind carbon copies” so you won’t have to scroll down through my email list to get to my message. The friends I am staying with, Jan and Kent Greve, has been gracious hosts and are a delightful family. I feel like I am on vacation!! (They made homemade biscuits this morning and topped them with fresh strawberries…man, you talk about yummy!!!) Seth, their 5 year old, continues to be my biggest fan and acts as if I am a celebrity in their home. I love this child!!

I hope you all have a wonderful week. Thanks for your prayers!

P.S. - We got 6 young women from the church youth to volunteer…thanks for praying!!

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
