Dear Family and Friends,
I have so many wonderful events to write you about this week! Since my last email to you, the ministry here has exploded into warp speed…very unlike Romania!!
Within 8 hours of my last update, I received an email from a family located in New England that was burdened to sponsor the family of 10 that I wrote about! Praise God for the answer to this prayer! I have attached a photo of this beautiful family that I had the opportunity to meet on Sunday. Get this, now that they have regular money coming into their household, they want to adopt an abandoned baby from the hospital…can you believe the hearts of these people?? Of course I am already working on getting a new child in their home!
Another item of praise is that another individual wrote and asked to sponsor this family. However, because the need had already been met, I communicated another need of a young couple from our church that travels to lead other churches in praise and worship. Consequently, this person agreed to sponsor this young couple on a monthly basis! Praise the Lord for His faithfulness!!
While I am in Romania, I attend a church called Betania Pentecostal. The pastor, Teo Bulzan is an awesome man of God with a heart for his people. When I was here last time, we discussed opening a facility to serve children with emotional and behavioral problems…the kind of children that are normally kicked out of regular orphanages. Yesterday, we discussed this ministry again. Today, I traveled today with Pastor Bulzan and his wife to see a state facility (an old clay mine) in the mountains that we may be able to get donated. While the land, the road, and the location are excellent, the buildings are totally devastated. The best thing we could do in bulldoze the buildings and start from the ground up. However, this would probably be more expensive than buying land and building somewhere else. We are going to look at more land later this week that is closer to Oradea. Please pray that the Lord lay the location on our hearts so that we can see His will more clearly.
Pastor Bulzan is also supportive in beginning a Christian restaurant in conjunction with the children’s facility. We both believe that these ministries could serve the needs of many children and families. The children’s facility would raise the produce necessary for the restaurant and the restaurant would employ the children as they age out of the facility. The children’s facility could also raise beef cows and chickens to be used in the restaurant and this would also employ some of the older children. We are excited about this prospect and we are giving the timing and the details completely to God! Please join us in this prayer.
I have another need for which I ask you to pray. I desperately need a vehicle…preferably a four wheel drive. It is becoming crucial to visiting Crizantina’s village (at some places there is no real road) and for finding land in mountain locations. If any of you have contacts that would donate a vehicle, please let me know. We know that God will provide!!
Allison is doing very well and she is enjoying working in the hospital with the babies. She has just begun to work with another ministry that ministers to street children and their families (not very many street children are orphans). She thoroughly enjoyed herself today and I praise God that He is using our different talents here to glorify His kingdom. Tomorrow, we are going to try to station Allison on a floor with abandoned babies that are not currently receiving daily affection. God has already opened this door by granting me favor with the hospital assistant director. She has given me the okay…now, we will watch God win over the nurses and doctors!
As usual, I have given you WAY too much to read! I thank you for tolerating my excitement in ministry here. Thank you for your prayers and your time!
Basking in the Son,
Michelle
