Dear Family and Friends,
This will be the last email update I send until after I arrive in Romania. I am scheduled to arrive in Budapest on May 10th in the afternoon and then we have a 4.5 car drive to Oradea, Romania.
Since my last email update, Allison Welch, a young woman from my church in Charleston, has felt God calling her to join me. We will meet in London and fly to Budapest together. She is an incredibly sweet person with a tremendous servant’s heart. She is committed to staying at least 3 months to help me with the ministry tasks that I have and then she will see how God is leading her. I am excited about her joining me and I ask that you please remember her in your prayers.
As for my stay on this trip, I can only tell you that I will do as God leads me. I have enough support to stay for one year. I feel like I will probably stay for the entire year but I will leave that up to God’s guidance. Thank you to the many of you who gave the financial support to make this possible.
I am at my mom’s house in NC now and will remain here until this coming Sunday morning. If you would like to get in touch with me, my phone number here is 919-776-9978. I will be running many errands but please leave a message if I am not in and I will call you back.
I would also like to give a special thank you to my senior pastor at Seacoast Church, Greg Surratt, for his support and guidance through the events of the past few months. Additionally, I would like to thank Ron and Libby Hamilton for their encouragement and support. Ron is now the Director of Missions at Seacoast and I will be reporting to him. And, thanks to Andy Hein, the Youth Pastor at Seacoast, for his friendship and support over the past few weeks. I will miss all of you and the church.
I ask for your continued prayer support and I journey back onto the foreign missions field with Allison. I feel God doing “big” things again and I am excited to watch how He uses ordinary people to unfold His extraordinary plan. May God bless each of you as you serve wherever you are in the U.S. and the world.
May He grant you the peace that surpasses all understanding as you are….
Basking in the Son,
Michelle
