Mission to Romania

God`s Blessings

Dear Family and Friends,

What a busy time this has been!! Since I last wrote, I have visited Crizantina in Chicago, moved to Charleston, started my new job, and moved into a different home!! Whew….God is busy pouring blessings over my life!

My visit with Crizantina was difficult. She is doing much better physically but her behavior is a real problem for the staff and it is impeding the healing process. For example, because she will not obey the commands of the staff NOT to put pillows under her once straightened leg, (she takes the pillows from under her head and puts them under her leg) her leg is now partially contracted again. We explained to her the importance of her following the rules and I am told that she is doing much better now.

Prior to my visit to Chicago, she had not been willing to enter the whirlpool for physical therapy. According to the staff, she was terrified. In an effort to appease her, I donned a hospital gown and entered the whirlpool with her. She was so amused with my appearance, all her fear was soon dispelled. The hospital staff was also amused and I was teased incessantly for the remainder of my stay!!

Doriana Dan, a wonderful Christian Romanian woman who lives in Chicago, has been giving Crizantina incredible support through visits, education, and fried chicken. Praise God for continuing to bring the perfect people into Crizantina’s life!!

My friend, Renee Segwick, who lives in San Diego, flew out to see me in Chicago. She and her father’s family were quite gracious in allowing me to stay in their home. Renee played chauffeur the entire time by taking me back and forth to the hospital and wherever needed. Thanks to Renee and the Segwick family!

Jeff and I met with the pastoral staff at my church on Tuesday morning. They were very supportive of our vision to open a facility for emotionally and behaviorally troubled children in Romania. On Wednesday night, they made an announcement to the church that we need housing until we get married and return to Romania. We had SIX families come forward and offer their homes!!! One of those people was a young woman, Mary Gorham. After praying, Mary and I met the next day and discussed the details. She has generously opened her home to me. She has a beautiful house in Mt. Pleasant complete with two fun dogs! Through her, God has blessed me with my own room and bathroom! Praise God for His wonderful provision!

My new address and phone numbers are:

Jeff and I ask that you please pray for God to provide a place for him to live. The families that have offered for him have not worked out yet but we are waiting to talk with others. We are confident that God will provide as He sees appropriate. Currently, Jeff is living with a very close friend of mine, Clay Stuckey. We praise God that Clay and the others in his home have been so hospitable to Jeff.

Thanks to the MANY of you that have sent support money to our ministry. Jeff and I are overwhelmed by the love of God that we experience through so many of you! We continue to stay in contact with our friends in Romania. We will wait on God to see how He leads us in starting our ministry for emotionally and behaviorally troubled children.

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
