Mission to Romania

Coming to America

Dear Family and Friends,

At this point, if any of you do not know about the little burned girl, Crizantina, you have not been reading my updates! Anyway, I will try to make this update short.

We are yet a bit closer to bringing her back to the US but, for some reason, God has decided to bring this down to the wire. The embassy claims that they have not received the faxes from the hospital in Chicago stating the entire cost for the medical treatment will be covered. I received an email on Tuesday stating that these faxes were sent Tuesday p.m. What does this mean? This means that I cannot book my flight back to the US until I know something definite about her visa. What should I do? Give it completely to God. My daddy wrote me the following today regarding the situation:

“So I feel that by Gods grace she will be coming home with you, not because of anything you or I have done but by his grace alone. You must keep the faith, that God will take care of this child even if it’s not when we think it should be done or how we think it should be done.”

How can you argue with that? It is the absolute truth. My faith is stronger than ever these days…it has been tried by fire and emerged victorious.

While I was in the hospital two weeks ago, I nurse said to me, “Why would you go to so much trouble for a gypsy girl? Her parents are poor and worthless and she will probably never care that you did this for her.” Then, she stormed away. Tears formed in my eyes as I whispered, “Because God goes to so much trouble for me.” I plan on talking to these nurses and explaining this to each of them as soon as I know for sure that Crizantina is leaving. Otherwise, they will continue to torment her in the hospital.

I am winding down my ministry here and making decisions about future involvement with ministries that are already established here. I will talk with my church about this after I return.

Thanks to each of you for your support. May God bless you as you have blessed me.

Basking in the Son,
Michelle
